001: [Video/Voice/Action] The FBI doesn't give ransom

[Reid pokes at the communication device a moment, brow furrowed as he tries to figure it out. Finally the video flickers on and Reid is staring down at it. He's dressed in a button down shirt, tie and grandpa cardigan sweater. He's also leaning on a cane. He's nervous but managing to keep his cool. Reid is working at keeping his mind off the last time he was kidnapped. This isn't the same, he thinks to himself. He's not tied up. Maybe this isn't a kidnapping. Maybe...]

Uhm...I-I'm Dr. Spencer Reid with the FBI. I d-don't know who you are or where this is but someone will be coming for me. If you'd like to t-talk, you haven't done anything w-wrong yet. I'm not hurt. You need to talk to me n-now because holding a federal agent against his will is a crime.

[She smiles to him, trying to be assuring. The cane, however, catches her eye. He's a young man; why does he have a cane?]

It's okay. I'm Naminé. And you're...?

[He notices the reassuring smile, adds to it that she offered to come help him. It all goes into a little mental profile. It does make him feel better and a little suspicious. Sometimes unsubs try to be reassuring in order to gain trust for some future purpose. He was shot. He'll talk about it if asked]

Spencer Reid.

Uhm...despite the circumstances, it's nice to meet you. Or maybe because of them, I'm n-not sure.

It's nice to meet you, Spencer. I'm...sorry you're here, and I'm sorry all of this has happened.

[She points to the Mansion.]

We can go inside, if you want. What has everyone told you about this place?

[Reid shakes his head in response]

You d-don't need to be sorry unless you h-had a part in my arrival.

[He looks up to the mansion, puzzling it out in his head and scanning details of it]

Y-yes. Please. [He wanted to see where he was stuck]

Uhm...I've gathered that it's Wonderland...like Lewis Carroll's book. The mansion feeds off our memories and we're stuck here.

[He knows people have told him more then that but he's still processing bits]

Uhm...events? Th-that...I didn't--it was mentioned but not explained really.

I didn't. The Queen's the one who brought you, and all of us, here.

[She moves to the side so he can walk with her.]

That's right. And there's events because of those memories. People will lose them and they're used against us by the Queen of Hearts.

R-right. The Queen of Hearts.

[He's trying to wrap his mind around it. It's all just a book to him. He quickens his pace a little--a hop/hobble for a couple of steps--in order to catch up with her.]

S-so she makes us all relive memories? Sometimes our own, something others?

[She smiles sadly.] Hard to imagine. The Queen of Hearts I saw before here wasn't like this.

[She pauses, concerned.] Are you all right...?

Not memories, so much, but pieces of our world. Things we know that cause danger to us, or are just different. But they're connected to our memories of our home.

[That promotes more brow furrowing and some silence as Reid tries to figure out her words. At her next question he perks up a bit]

Uhm...as well as I can be...considering.

[He waves his hand at the place to illustrate what the considering is]

Uhm [Look he's back to furrowed brow thinky!Reid]

So it manifests dangers from our world using our memories and our knowledge? I guess...I guess if it can use our memories for energy it would make sense that it could...except I'm not suer how

Can I help at all?

[She looks back up at the Mansion.]

Well, it is Wonderland. And I'm sure it's the Queen's power.

Uhm...[He thinks it's an odd question considering she's just as much a victim here as he is. Or at least that's what he thinks]

No, I don't think so?

Right...I guess I should re-read that book.
