Intervention [RP with so_lessfragile Hanna Carmichael]

Reid was sitting at a table outside the coffee shop waiting for Hanna to show up. They'd pre arranged to meet here. In his head he was trying to decide what the best approach was. Clearly, Hanna was mentally unstable but the only person he'd ever had to intervene in their lives directly because of that had been his mother. He couldn't exactly commit Hanna. She'd have to do that herself. He had time to make those sort of decisions though. Right now he was going to have his coffee and wait for her to show up.

Hanna did as Reid asked and took a seat. "Just a regular... I'm not one for those macciwhatevers." she replied.

Reid nodded and ordered her coffee, paid for it and brought it over to her. He sat the coffee in front of her then sat down opposite her.

"W-where did you come from?" he asked, trying to get a conversation started.

Before replying, Hanna took a sip of her coffee. Better than a lot she had. Reid had chose a good coffee shop. "Just a blip on the map small town in southern new your state."

"Long drive," Reid responded. He took a sip of his coffee. It was black with tons of sugar. "Do you live in New York?"

Hanna shook her head. "Nope. I was there for a job."

Reid nodded. He was used to the idea of traveling for work. He just took a jet instead of a car. "So where do you live?"

Hanna shrugged. "Does my car count? I don't really live in one particular place. I can't stay in a place too long. I travel wherever my job takes me."

"I guess it can count," Reid said. "What kind of car?" Yeah, he sort of was avoiding asking what her job was. He knew her instability spread to what she did for a 'living'. He wanted to know what else it interferred with.

Hanna grinned. He sure was trying to avoid the subject of her work. "An old Honda. It's nothing special but it gets me from place to place without giving me too much trouble."

"I guess that's what's important," Reid responded. "I don't drive. I mean I can. I have a license in case I have to drive for work but I ride the subway to work everyday and I don't own a car."

"Really? Damn. Don't you get claustraphobic in a subwa with all those people?" Hanna shuddered at the thought. "I'd rather walk.|

"No," Reid shook his head. "I'm not really claustrophobic. Statistically it's much safer than driving. Since 1990 there have been 668 subway deaths. 47.2% were alcohol related, 51.3% were suicides and only 1.5% were homicides. None of them were related to actual train accidents or machine failure."

Hanna raised an eyebrow. What was with the sudden statistics lesson? "Whoa, alrighty. You sure can pull facts out of your ass. What else can you do?"

Reid furrowed his brow at her question. He wasn't sure if she was being serious or sarcastic. "Statistics are kind of my thing. Uhm...I can read 20,000 words a minute...I've got doctorates in Mathematics, Chemistry and Engineering so...do you really care or are you being sarcastic?"

Hanna's jaw dropped for a fraction of a second but she pulled it right back up. "A little bit of both, I guess. But that's pretty impressive. All I have is my highschool diploma." She paused. They really weren't talking at all about what she came to Virgina for. "Anyway, we're getting far too off topic. Look, Reid, you seem like a nice guy. Hell, you bought me a coffee, but I have to show you what's out there. I really am not crazy."

"Not crazy," Reid specified. He hated that word because his mother was schizophrenic and he knew there was a chance he could be at some point too. "Just...unstable." He looked down at his watch, worn over the sleeve of his sweater.

"Okay. I've got time off work. Where do you want to take me?" He was fairly sure that even if she was unstable, she wasn't going to hurt him.

Hanna smirked. There were quite a few places she could take him. Hell, she could probably find something to hunt in Quantico but she preferred small towns. The cops were stupider there. "Lucky for you I already had a next job set up so we are both headed to Seaford, Delaware. You up for it? Because seriously, with what I do you have to be on the ball. You can't lag behind. It could get you killed and I so do not want your death on my conscience."

"Alright, if you'll take me back to my apartment, let me grab my gun and some clothes," Reid agreed. He didn't think she was actually going to show him anything out of the ordinary but whatever she did show him, he wanted to be ready for.

Hanna smiled and stood. She gulped the rest of her coffee down then said, "Fine by me, let's go."

Reid picked up his coffee and stood up, waiting for Hanna to stand before they started out of the coffee shop. He looked down the street. "Where did you park?"

Hanna walked right out of the coffee shop and headed toward her car. She hoped Reid followed. "Right here," she said, opening the drivers side door. Before she got in she said, "Get in. Then tell me how to get to your place. I wanna be on the road as soon as possible."

Reid got in the car and shut the door. He gave her directions, the most direct route to his place. "It won't take me long to grab things," he assured her, tucking his hair behind one ear. Now that he was actually taking steps to go somewhere with her, he was a little nervous.

They were on the road in seconds. Hanna found his apartment easy enough. "I'll wait here. No need for me to go up there with you." she said. She wondered how smart this actual was to be taking a suvillian, just a regular innocent, on a hunt. He said he had a gun, but did he know how to use it? Not only that, guns were useless with demons. She really hoped she wasn't making a really stupid mistake.

Reid jogged up to his apartment and grabbed the bag he kept packed for work. His gun and his badge were in the safe. Those went in the bag. He picked up a couple of books, stuck them in the bag. He glanced around the apartment to make sure he wasn't leaving anything. He scribbled a note to JJ, knowing she'd probably be the one to check on him if he disappeared.

Went on a trip with a woman named Hanna Carmichael. Shouldn't be gone more than a couple of days

He went back downstairs, put the bag in the back of Hanna's car and got in the passenger seat. "Ready when you are."

Hanna nodded and set the car in motion. She wasn't sure how long it would take to get to Seaford. She wasn't used to driving with other people. She just hoped he didn't have to pee too damn much. "I'm going to warn you now, Reid, so you don't freak out later. And I know you think I'm mentally unstable but just hear me out. What we're going to see, what we're going to hunt, are demons. One... or possibly more. Don't get freaked out, alright? Just follow my lead and it'll be fine." Yea, he totally thinks I'm a nutjob, she thought.
